The shipping company helps the choral group

Interlink Shipping Line Limited had helped transport Wasewase Biaugunu Choir from Biaugunu Village to Savusavu and then to Suva for the Methodist Church Annual Conference,

Interlink Shipping Line Limited had assisted in transporting Wasewase Biaugunu Choir from Biaugunu Village to Savusavu and then to Suva for the Methodist Church Annual Conference, Choir and Bazaar.

Operations manager Manoj Kumar told the Fiji Sun they were very honored to provide their prompt service to the Methodist Church group last week from Vanua Levu and back.

“We are also doing the same for New Methodist Church groups this week,” he said.

He said the fare charged for the above group was $ 100.00 round trip per person, including bus service from Saqani.

Their normal fare to Labasa, he said, was $ 55 one way.

“We provided an additional 800 km pickup and drop-off service for said group.”

He stated that the MV Westerland being the vessel of choice for the people and a medium for the north link, would always be there for the northerners with their prompt and efficient service in any case to make her a success.

According to Mr. Kumar, Interlink Shipping Line Limited had acquired the operations of the MV Westerland in October 2016 and was operating successfully between the Suva / Savusavu and Natovi / Nabouwalu routes as of December 24, 2016.

Meanwhile, the Biaugunu choir sang a chorus called “Marau Ko Viti Ni Sa Noda Na Qaqa” (Fiji rejoices that the victory is ours) and it is about the victory of Fiji at the Olympic Games Rio 2016 .

The choir is made up of over 50 members of Udu Point (Yasawa-i-cake) and Saqani (Yasawa-i-ra) and had returned home on Monday, August 21.

They were collected from the village of Saqani and would also be dropped off there on their return.

The conductor and composer is Tomasi Bonaveidogo.

He said the normal route was for them to go to Labasa and then to Savusavu.

However, for this trip Int erlink Shipping Line Limited had assisted them.

“He provided buses for our loading from Saqani village to the Methodist school in Suva and back,” he said.

He said it was a real blessing to them and thanked the company for their timely help.
